From 3 to 4 pm on Apr. 1, opposition youth in Baku’s Malakan park will stage a demonstration to promote reading newspapers, according to a public Facebook event page.
According to our source in Baku, activists are free to read whatever papers they want, but in his opinion, mainly pro-opposition papers such as Musavat, Azerbaijan and Azadliq will be read.
“The purpose of the campaign is to encourage people to read newspapers in which there is more detailed information about the world than on TV,” said the source.
During the hour-long demonstration, youth will read newspapers out loud.
Recall, in 2008, opposition youth in Armenia staged a similar demonstration in downtown Yerevan.
