US State Department Rep Didn’t Respond to Question on Armenia-Iran Energy Cooperation Deals

At a US Department of State daily press briefing yesterday, Acting Deputy Department Spokesperson Mark C. Toner was asked a question related to cooperation between Armenia and Iran. The journalist was particularly interested on Toner’s opinion on agreements — including energy cooperation deals — that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan signed while in Iran last week.

“Again, I’d have to look at those agreements and see what they were – entailed. I don’t have details on it. Our position about doing business with Iran has been made many times, when Iran fails to come clean about its nuclear program, but I don’t know what they – what transpired. I’ll try to do some research on that and get back to you,” Toner responded.
