There are two names with Armenian last names in the published list of those wounded in the Minsk metro blast: Samvel Sahakyan and Margaret Smbatyan.
Samvel Sahakyan is a citizen of the Republic of Armenia. As reported earlier, RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs press secretary Tigran Balayan said that Sahakyan had problems with his hearing and he was in the Otolaryngology (Ear-Nose-Throat) division of the hospital.
As for Margaret Smbatyan, her citizenship is currently not known. Armenia’s foreign ministry is currently in the process of confirming this, Balayan told Epress.am.
The toll from the blast in the Minsk subway yesterday was at least 12 dead, with about 149 wounded, after an explosive device went off at 5:55 pm during the evening rush hour at the capital’s busiest metro station, Oktyabrskaya, which is near the presidential residence, the Belarusian KGB said in a statement published on its website today.
