The English-language version of writer, publicist Tigran Paskevichyan’s documentary film on the events of Mar. 1–2, 2008, when national police and military forces were called in to disperse the mass protests that followed a disputed presidential election and used “excessive force and violence” which left 10 people dead and many more wounded, will be ready in a few days, reports local daily Haykakan Jamanak (“Armenian Times”).
“Tigran Paskevichyan said that the core work of the English version of the film is already complete; the only thing remaining are technical issues, which will wrap up in a few days. The voice-over in the film is in English, while the information about and spoken words of those interviewed are subtitled. Thanks to the English version of ‘Armenia’s Lost Spring,’ representatives of international agencies, foreign ambassadors accredited in Armenia and any foreigner interested in Armenia’s domestic life, without the use of a translator, can become informed of what happened on Mar. 1–2, 2008, in Yerevan and what the reasons were for these events,” reports the daily.
