Armenian TV channel H2 won the right to broadcast the popular game show “Best of the Best” (which goes by different names in different countries).
According to the announcement of the show, for the first time, Armenia will be represented by its own team. The H2 team includes the TV channel’s own hosts and Armenian athletes — most notably, former legendary French football (soccer) player Youri Raffi Djorkaeff of mixed Polish-Kalmyk-Armenian ancestry. Armenia will be battling against teams from Russia, China and France. During the competition, participants have to carry out various bizarre tasks, overcome obstacles and gain points.
Other famous athletes included in Armenia’s team are the current WBA, WBC unified Super Flyweight World Champion, former IBF and IBO champion Vic Darchinyan and two-time European champion, world championship silver medalist, bronze medalist of the Beijing Olympics, wrestler Roman Amoyan.
Note that this game premiered in 1962 in France where it was called Jeux Sans Frontières. Former French president Charles de Gaulle first came up with the idea of friendly competition between teams from different countries.
