23-Year-Old Armenian National Hangs Himself in Ukraine Prison

An Armenian national, who was arrested earlier for being in possession of falsified documents,  killed himself while in detention in Ukraine.

According to UNIAN news agency, the 23-year-old citizen of Armenia was taken off a Moscow-Odessa train at Konotop (Ukraine) on suspicion of traveling with a fake passport. A few days later, the young man hung himself at night in the solitary cell in which he was being kept. Tearing up his sheet into strips, he tied them together to the overhead heating pipes and hung himself.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
