Dalita to Represent Armenia in 2011 Junior Eurovision Song Contest… in Armenia (VIDEO)

On Sept. 17, sixteen participants from Armenia’s different regions competed for the chance to represent Armenia in this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Note, Armenian broadcaster AMPTV chose the best 16 songs out of 135 applicants.

The live contest program was decided by the 4 dolphins from the controversial Nemo dolphinarium in Yerevan — Hrachik, Vachik, Dasha and Masha — who kicked balls with numbers on Sept. 10.

The winner, chosen by voting split equally between SMS and jury votes, was Dalita Avanesyan, who was the 12th act to perform on Saturday. Note, Dalita had also applied to participate in last year’s song contest; however, she was able to succeed only this year.

Thus, at the 2011  Junior Eurovision Song Contest set to take place in Armenia on Dec. 3, Armenia will be represented by Dalita with the song “Welcome to Armenia.”
