It is always a pleasure to come to Azerbaijan, said Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili (pictured) during a recent visit to Baku.
“This isn’t just an official visit, but a visit that truly inspires us. It gives us positive energy. It is the positive energy from such visits that nourishes cooperation between our countries,” he said, reports the Baku-based News.az.
The state leader noted that under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan is not only a rapidly developing country, but also a leader in the region.
“We feel Azerbaijan’s assistance in any issue. Herein lies the strength of relations between our countries. This, in essence, is the cornerstone of stability and development in the region. This is happening on the basis of your work, your strong will, the will of the Azerbaijani people.
“You are a genuinely independent country. You can serve as an example to many states in the region. Azerbaijan is a good example for us and for others too. We shouldn’t see this as a matter of course. We have seen other events in the region and think that from this point of view Azerbaijan is an exception,” he said.
