Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasyan, Finance Minister Vache Gabrielyan and MP Viktor Dallakyan (no party affiliation) have submitted applications for membership to the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), reports Yerkir.am, citing HHK executive body member Ruben Tadevosyan.
Tadevosyan said the applications have been accepted and the two state ministers and the lawmaker are already Republican members. Recall, in May 2011, a video uploaded on YouTube depicted Dallakyan criticizing HHK leader and president of the country Serzh Sargsyan during what appeared to be the election campaign period in 2003. Note, also in 2003, Dallakyan withdrew his HHK membership as he didn’t agree with the party’s position on backing former president Robert Kocharian.
As for when membership cards will be officially handed over to the men, Tadevosyan didn’t know. “We’ll see; we’ll discuss it and we’ll definitely let you know,” he promised.
According to rumors, the ceremony for admitting the new members is set for this Sunday.
