“Of course the existing status quo [on Karabakh] cannot be eternal. After each round of talks we hear statements that Azerbaijan has allocated large sums of money to weapons,” head of the Armenian delegation to Baku Vahan Hovhannesyan told journalists at the 2nd plenary session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, according to the Baku-based APA news agency.
According to Hovhannesyan, who is also the head of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) parliamentary faction, Armenia is ready to make concessions in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“If the concessions go both ways and are brought to a united form, the resolution of the conflict will only take a few weeks.
“I think the problem has a peaceful solution,” he said.
He stressed that the status quo in the conflict cannot last forever, but “such peace is better than war”.
