20-year-old conscript Edgar Melkonyan died on June 11 at around 1:30 AM in a military unit deployed in the southern direction of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army, the NKR Ministry of Defense said in an official statement.
A criminal case has been initiated pursuant to Part 1 of Article 110 of the RA Criminal Code (inciting suicide), Investigative Committee of Armenia reported. According to preliminary information, the soldier is believed to have shot himself under the chin.
