16 Armenian soldiers were wounded on Friday in an Azerbaijani rocket attack on one of the military units deployed in northeastern Karabakh. The Investigative Committee of Armenia released the names of those wounded in a statement issued on Saturday, September 26: Arkady Muradyan, Harutyun Tovmasyan, Karen Vardanyan, Vanik Martirosyan, Tatul Poghosyan, Sergey Eloyan, Khachatur Papikyan, Yasha Baghdasarov, Arman Stepanyan, Narek Tarumyan, Karen Yeremyan, Safar Safaryan, Vurg Galstyan, Razmik Khachatryan, Sedrak Gharibyan, and Hayk Hovhannisyan have been hospitalized with injuries of differing levels of severity.
Recall, NKR military authorities reported Friday that four Armenian conscripts – Norayr Khachatryan (20), Robert Mkrtchyan (20), Harut Hakobyan (18), and Karen Shahinyan (18) – died from shrapnel wounds as a result of the same attack.
The Armenian Defense Ministry, in turn, reported that for the first time since the ceasefire in 1994 “the adversary has used 122-mm howitzers to attack frontline military units.”
Armenian Armed Forced, authorities said, will from now on retaliate with “equal artillery and missile measures.”
