Armenia's Investigative Committee reports that 32-year-old Hovhannes Atanyan was fatally shot at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on 14 Vardanants St. in Yerevan. The man, as stated by law enforcement authorities, died on the spot. According to local media reports, Atanyan worked as a lawyer at Armenia's Anelik Bank.
A criminal case has been launched over the killing. Meanwhile, the official website of the Armenian Police reported today that through operational intelligence measures law enforcement officers have determined “the crime was committed by Yerevan resident, 54-year-old Mkrtich P.” Police are looking for the suspect.
