21-year-old Armenian contract serviceman Arayik I Sargsyan, a native of the Hadrut region, was fatally wounded at around 1 am on January 16th at a military unit of the Nagorno Karabakh (NKR) Defense Army deployed in the southern direction of the line of contact between NKR and Azerbaijani forces, Karabakh military authorities said on Monday.
According to the NKR defense ministry’s official statement, Sargsyan received a fatal gunshot wound in circumstances that are as yet unestablished, and authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the details of the incident.
