Armenian Parliamentary Election Observers Report Finding Marked Ballot Papers in Various Precincts

Representatives of the Independent Observer public union, which is conducting a monitoring mission at today’s parliamentary elections in Armenia, have noticed that the ballot papers for the ruling Republican Party at the 16/15 polling station in Armavir province feature small black markings which the ballot papers for the other parties and blocs lack, the Helsinki Citizens Assembly Vanadzor Office (HCAV) reports.

According to HCAV, the alien mark has also been observed on Armenian Renaissance party ballot papers at Yerevan’s 04/53 polling station, and on both Republican Party and Armenian Renaissance papers at the 27/16 polling station in Kotayk province.

Several monitoring missions, among them the Independent Observer, HCAV, and the Union of Informed Citizens public organization, have jointly filed an electronic complaint to the office of Armenia’s General Prosecutor and the Central Election Commission.
