19-Year-Old Soldier Dies in Stepanakert of Acute Infection

A conscript soldier of the Artsakh Defense Army, 19-year-old Hayk S Hakobyan, died on February 8 in the central military hospital of Stepanakert. The soldier’s death, according to a statement issued by the press service of the Artsakh Defense Ministry, was caused by the so-called lightning-fast form of meningococcemia.

Recall, another 20-year-old conscript, Hayk R Kalantaryan,  was fatally wounded by Azerbaijani fire on February 7 at a southern military unit in Artsakh.
