On December 5, at around 17:30, 5 contract servicemen were caught in an avalanche in the guarding zone of military unit N in Syunik Marz. One of them has been found dead.
According to the press statement of the Ministry of Defense, the search operation succeeded in finding 4 of the servicemen and getting them out of the avalanche on the same day. The condition of their health is estimated to be satisfactory.
On December 6, at around 14:00 Hayk Karamyan’s body (born in 1995, in military service since 2016, Sisian military commission) was found in the avalanche.
Investigation is initiated to find out more about the circumstances of the accident.
