Environmental and civic activists protested outside the Armenian government building today, demanding the immediate demolition of kiosks being installed in a central Yerevan park.
Inside the building however, government leaders made a final decision to allow construction of these “temporary” shops — to be dismantled in three years’ time.
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, according to a statement issued on the government’s official website, said that with this decision the matter regarding Mashtots Park is considered closed.
