Judge Simizar Hovsepyan of the Court of First Instance of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun Administrative Districts of Yerevan accepted the lawsuit by Narine Sargsyan and Hrant Suvaryan against Susanna Davtyan, Lemberik Khachatryan, and third party Aravot daily for compensation for harm caused to their honor and dignity, reports Aravot.am.
Note, Narine Sargsyan is the daughter of Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, while Hrant Suvaryan, head of Financial Supervision Department at the Central Bank of Armenia, is Tigran Sargsyan's godfather. They are represented by RA Chamber of Advocates member Anahit Sargsyan.
The plaintiff's representative reported that on Feb. 7, Aravot.am in an article titled "The RA Prime Minister's Daughter and Relative Took Possession of My Property" wrote: "Citizens Susanna Davtyan and Lemberik Khachatryan describe how the RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan's daughter and relative, head of the Central Bank's financial supervision department Hrant Suvaryan unlawfully took possession of their stone building."
"The RA prime minister's daughter and relatives seized my property. It seemed to me that as a prime minister, as someone fighting against corruption, [he] should have dealt with this issue and said, dear girl, dear son-in-law, temper your appetites a little. That's why I sent a letter to him, but there was no reply."
Suvaryan has denied any relation with the Khachatryans' stone building. "That land has nothing to do with us; it belongs to the neighbor […] The house next to the land is my son's house, and the stone building that Lemberik Khachatryan is constructing, the car garage, is on his neighbor Artur Khachatryan's land. They have long agreed with us about the construction. I don't know what problems have arisen now — the problems are between them. We have nothing to do with it."
