Armenia's leading airline “Air Armenia” is unable to restart its flights. Last year, the company suspended flights promising that they would restart them on December 20, however a new date was set for flights, in March.
Hraparak daily notes that currently it is unknown whether the company would ever get back to business or not. The aviation company has serious financial issues and they have not been successful in finding a solution to them, notes the paper.
Recall, in late December 2014, a Ukrainian investment fund announced the purchase of 49% of the company's shares. The fund overall invested about $30 million in “Air Armenia”, with the intention of expanding the company’s small fleet of aircraft.
