Epress.am has managed to recover some of the equipment and material which was illegally seized by Armenian police from our correspondents during the violent dispersal of the peaceful demonstration in Yerevan on June 23.
Law enforcement officers had seized three cameras from our reporters and destroyed their memory cards. Later in the day, the police returned some of the equipment but kept our third camera which contained most of the important material.
On Thursday, June 25, authorities returned the third camera to Epress.am; however, it's memory had been wiped clean.
Nevertheless, after working on the camera for more than 30 hours, professionals managed to restore part of the 50-minute video material. The tape shows the launch of the police operation: detention of peaceful demonstrators and excessive force used by plainclothes officers, water cannons, beatings, abusive language, and more.
