A couple of days ago, when Armenian vinegrowers were waiting in a queue in front of the winery in the town of Myasnikyan in Armavir province for their grapes to be procured, several trucks loaded with grapes arrived at the factory and demanded the gates be opened since it was “General Lyova Yeranosyan's produce,” farmers told local “Zhoghovurd” newspaper. The gates opened, they said, and these trucks only were allowed to go inside out of turn.
The daily tried to get a comment from the Commander of the Police Troops of the RA, Deputy Head of Armenian Police Lieutenant General Levon Yeranosyan, who, however, answered: “Do not ask me. I have no idea about such issues, and do not bother me again!”
Note, under Armenian law, the military are prohibited from engaging in entrepreneurial activities.
