“I have fought for my justice; it doesn’t matter whether I was released through amnesty or not. I have been an innocent prisoner — I consider that this is not an amnesty, but an almost pardon [a play on words from the Armenian],” said Sasun Mikaelyan who was released from the prisoners’ hospital earlier today.
I have never consciously made a mistake, and “I bore the imprisonment of three years and three months for my people’s freedom. Naturally, I am going to continue my struggle — no matter how much hardship there will be. The authorities shouldn’t have done such a thing against me,” he said.
“I’ve always been the soldier of my people, and I am going to continue to serve my nation,” said Sasun Mikaelyan.
Instead of his previous plans to go to Yerablur military cemetery, Mikaelyan will now go to the Armenian National Congress office. He is expected to be in the park with Saryan’s statue in central Yerevan around 7 pm tonight.
