Aronian in 4th Place Among World’s Best Chess Players

The World Chess Federation (FIDE) has published their September 2010 list of the world’s best chess players.

Magnus Carlsen, a 20-year-old Grandmaster from Norway, tops the list with 2826 ratings. Coming in second place, with only a difference of 23 ratings, is Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria), followed by Viswanathan Anand (India) in third place.

Armenia is represented by Levon Aronian in 4th place with 2783 ratings. Fellow Armenian Sergei Movsesian, representing Slovakia, made it to 23rd place with 2723 ratings, with Vladimir Akopian (Armenia) in 43rd place with 2691 ratings and Gabriel Sargissian (Armenia) in 62nd place with 2677 ratings.
