Georgia to No Longer Request License from Drivers

Beginning next year, drivers in Georgia won’t have to carry a driver’s license on their person, reports Novosti-Georgia, citing Georgia’s Minister of Internal Affairs Vano Merabishvili.

“Patrol police will only ask for the driver’s name and will check their identity through a computer. This is another step toward reducing bureaucracy. The less the state intervenes in a citizen’s private life, the better for society,” said Merbishvili.
