Do Not Fly Armavia, Says Giro Manoyan

Giro Manoyan, the director of the International Secretariat (also known as the Hai Dat) of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun), wrote a post on his blog today advising fellow travelers not to fly Armavia, Armenia’s national airlines.

Manoyan was on the flight from Yerevan to Beirut yesterday, which, according to the Zvartnots Armenian International Airport, was delayed by about five hours.

“Arrived in Beirut on an ARMAVIA flight from Yerevan after a delay of almost five hours. Will soon leave for Aleppo by car for an event this evening and another one tomorrow. Will fly back to Yerevan from Aleppo on Monday,” wrote Manoyan, outlining his itinerary on his blog.

In addition to the flight being delayed, according to Manoyan, many of the passengers’ luggage was lost. The Dashnaktsutyun member also expressed his discontent at the Armavia monopoly on Yerevan-Beirut flights:

“But ARMAVIA did not bring my luggage, just as it did not bring the luggages of over half the passengers. Just like that; nor forwarning, no apologies, no nothing… The earliest possible delivery time is in a week’s time, because that’s when the next flight is. To top it off, ARMAVIA says they don’t reimburse for the delay and ALL the inconvinience [sic] they’ve caused. That’s what happens when ARMAVIA has monopoly over the flights between Yerevan and Beirut. That’s what happens when ARMAVIA is ‘too close’ to the ruling elite.

“Next time, DO NOT FLY ARMAVIA, tell them I said so!!!”
