VIDEO: Police Forcefully Detain Activists Protesting Putin’s Armenia Visit

Police continued to pick up and detain activists protesting Armenia's accession to the Customs Union and Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Armenia today long after the protests were over. As reported by the Epress.am correspondent, police were shoving activists into nearby police vans en masse. Among those detained were Asparez Journalists Club President Levon Barseghyan and Yerevan Council of Elders member, Heritage Party representative David Sanasaryan.

Meanwhile, police issued a statement, saying "those committing several offenses during the march were not arrested, but were separated from the place of the rally. With the aim of being subjected to administrative responsibility, they have been brought to the police station and were released a short while later." Note, police actions were led by RA Deputy Police Chief Hunan Poghosyan and Yerevan Police Chief Ashot Karapetyan.
