Sacked Deputy Director of Armenia’s National Security Service Now Replaced

Upon a presidential decree, Hrant Yepiskoposyan was appointed to the position of First Deputy Director of Armenia's National Security Service, reports the press service of the President of the Republic of Armenia.

Note, Yepiskoposyan succeeds Romik Harutyunyan, who was dismissed from the post a month ago. Though the reason for Harutyunyan's dismissal was never officially reported, according to local media reports, Romik Harutyunyan was involved ex officio in the investigation into the disappearance of large sums of money from Armbusinessbank (ABB), attempting to offer deals to the accused in the case. Unconfirmed reports claim he is in Romania and is not planning on returning to Armenia.
