Robert Hakobyan, Head of the Prosperous Armenia Party headquarters in the town of Goris of Armenia's Syunik Province, has filed a criminal complaint with the Police, claiming that he has been threatened to be slaughtered. In an interview with Zhoghovurd daily Hakobyan said he was chased around 4:50 PM on Sunday, April 5, in Goris by a group of young people in cars, who, subsequently, started to threaten him.
“One of the cars was a “Brabus” with 077 QQ 77 license plate, the other one – a “Porsche Cayenne” with 77 AV 077 license plate. Behind the wheel of one of the cars was Syunik Governor Surik Khachatryan’s son, Tigran Khachatryan (pictured), who, after chasing me for a long period of time, began to threaten to kill me, to slaughter me. He was using curse words I would not dare to repeat in front of you. Immediately after the incident I went to the police and filed a criminal complaint. However, the police have not taken any steps yet, there is no news,” Robert Hakobyan said.
When asked about the reason of Surik Khachatryan's son chasing and threatening him, the politician responded: “I am a relative of the Budaghyan family. The Budaghyans' youngest son is my daughter's husband. I think, there is a link between Tigran Khachatryan's actions and the incident between the Khachatryans and the Budaghyans.”
Recall, that in the evening of June 1st, 2013 near Syunik Governor Surik Khachatryan’s home former Goris mayoral candidate Avetik Budaghyan was killed and his brother Artak Budaghyan injured. In the frame of the initiated criminal case Surik Khachatryan’s son Tigran and security guard Zarzand Nikoghosyan was arrested. Subsequently, the two were later released because the investigative bodies claimed they were acting in self-defense.
