Two Armenian Soldiers Wounded in Overnight Ceasefire Violations, Defense Ministry Says

Armenian military authorities reported Monday that Azerbaijan again violated the April 5 agreement on cessation of hostilities along the Nagorno-Karabakh line of contact.

The Armenian Defense Ministry said in a statement that two Armenian soldiers, 25-year-old Erik B Matevosyan and 20-year-old Azat T Barsamyan, were shot and wounded in two separate incidents late Sunday in the frontline positions of a NKR Defense Army northern military unit.

The statement also claimed that at around 1 am Monday the Azerbaijani side attempted a 20-member sabotage attack on the Defense Army's eastern positions but “was promptly detected and repelled by Karabakh forces.”
