Grape growers of the village of Kaghtsrashen in Armenia's Ararat province have lost all of hope of ever receiving from the local Vinar winery the money for the grapes that were purchased from them last autumn. Speaking to Epress.am Tuesday, farmer Zakar Petrosyan said that the winery had promised to cover the entire debt by May 10; however, “they lied again, these people will never pay us our money.”
“They had initially said that they'd pay on [May] the 3rd, then – the 6th and the 10th. Now they promise the debt will be covered by May 12. Several people have received 100-150 thousand drams; others haven't gotten a dime,” Petrosyan said.
He added that the farmers gather every day at the village centre to discuss further action: “We discuss possibilities of what can be done; but the country is in a state of war, so our voices will never be heard.”
