Armenian Police Continue Mass Detentions of Citizens (Video)

Law enforcement authorities in Armenia have unleashed a mass detentions campaign across the area adjacent to the seized police station in Yerevan’s Erebuni district. Last night's detentions continued well into Wednesday as officers kept detaining everyone, including senior citizens and minors, in proximity to the police cordon surrounding the building.

Police do not allow people to sit on nearby benches, claiming that the Khorenatsi street is a “prohibited area.” Officers are also walking through the area’s residential buildings, detaining even ordinary passers-by. According to an Epress.am correspondent, more than a hundred people have already been detained, among them Heritage opposition party deputy head Armen Martirosyan, Heritage member Davit Sanasaryan, actors Yeghishe Petrosyan and Arsine Khanjyan.
