Yura Tepanosyan, a 30-year-old officer of Armenia’s police forces, was fatally shot Saturday near the seized police station in Yerevan’s Erebuni district, according to a Facebook post from Ashot Aharonyan, the head of police’s press service.
The policeman, Aharonyan said, was shot by a sniper while sitting in a car stationed 350-400 meters from the seized building.
Note, Armenia’s National Security Forces had given the armed group occupying the police station until 5 pm today to lay down their arms and surrender to the police. Otherwise, the NSS warned, law enforcement agencies would be authorized to “neutralize any armed person” in and out of the police station.
