Future Increase in Gas Price will Reduce Consumption: Expert

Gazprom and numerous Russian officials have already begun talking about raising the price of natural gas: they say that it’s possible that the gas price will reach $303 USD per thousand cubic meters, said Union of Domestic Commodity Producers of Armenia Chair Vazgen Safaryan during a press conference today, adding that that will be a reason for the decline in gas consumption.

“When the price of gas went up from 135 [Armenian] dram to 184 [Armenian] dram, we warned the government that a decline in the use of gas was inevitable. And so it happened,” said Safaryan.
