Tbilisi Not Offended by Armenia’s Vote Against Georgia in UN Resolution

Tbilisi accepts that it hasn’t been able to reach a result in negotiations with Yerevan on Georgia’s resolution adopted at the UN General Assembly. At the same time, Tbilisi notes that Yerevan’s position on the issue shouldn’t result in a break in relations between the two countries, said Georgia’s First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nino Kalandadze.

“Armenia, of course, has its own interests, based on which it makes decisions. And in this case, Armenia was guided by its interests. Yerevan’s decision related to Georgia’s resolution is regrettable, of course, but it shouldn’t cause a crack in bilateral relations,” said Kalandadze.

Recall that at a recent meeting, the UN General Assembly passed a resolution submitted by Georgia on the status of IDPs and refugees from Abkhazia, Georgia and the Tskhinvali region/South Ossetia.
