Armenia’s Independence Day Marked in Shanghai Expo

Armenia’s tricolor flag was raised on Sept. 21, on the country’s day of independence, also in the city of Shanghai where Armenia’s Independence Day was announced during Expo 2010 Shanghai China, according to a release issued by the RA government information and pubic relations department.

Celebrations began early in the morning, with the Armenian delegation led by RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan being invited to the exhibit reception hall.

At Expo 2010, Armenia’s pavilion called “City of the World,” featured an “Apricot Garden” and a “Gold & Silk” exhibit.

The pavilion invited architects around the world to submit designs for their ideal city.  Models were exhibited in the pavilion.

In the “Apricot Garden,” visitors can taste various delicacies, while listening to the music of the Armenian Duduk made of wood from an apricot tree, while at the “Gold & Silk” exhibit, they can learn many facts about the trading history between China and Armenia.
