Georgia President Mikheil Saakashvili is convinced that Georgia can have productive dialogue with Russia. As the president said in his speech at New York University on Sept. 21., Russia will change and become Georgia’s most important ally.
“I believe that one day we will be able to lead normal and effective dialogue with our northern neighbor. Our territories that it has occupied cannot last for long.
“I hope that Russia will become more modern, it will change and become a major ally of independent and European Georgia,” said the Georgian leader, adding that the Russian government must understand that development requires respect for fundamental rights and values.
