Armenia Awarded ‘Five Stars’ from UEFA

On Oct. 26, upon a proposal by the UEFA Development and Technical Support Committee, during a meeting of UEFA’s Executive Committee, the Football Federation of Armenia was officially awarded its “five stars.”

In July, the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) was given five stars as part of the UEFA Grassroots programme, which testifies to the effective work the FFA has carried in helping to cultivate the game’s grassroots, according to a FFA press release.

Note that two years ago, FFA had received only one star. In order to acquire the remaining four stars, FFA had presented a package which contained its work over the last two years in the area of grassroots football. Presented to UEFA, in particular, was a list of all the FFA events, the process and outcomes, as well as the recorded increase in the number of participants.

According to its official website, UEFA has been reinforcing its grassroots activities more recently this year, spreading its message across Europe to include sectors such as football for the disabled. Children are also being targeted in the campaign to show the joy of football.
