Armenian Economics University Lecturer Who Hit Student to be Fired

The Armenian State University of Economics (ASUE) lecturer who hit a student will be fired from his position.

Speaking to Epress.am, the RA Ministry of Education and Science public relations department spokesperson said a rectorate meeting was called immediately after the incident where a decision was made to let go math instructor Sergei Hovasapyan who had hit a ASUE student, Hayk Avetisyan.

Hovasapyan was also the head of the Career Department. As told to Epress.am by the ministry, the decision included firing Hovasapyan from all positions he held at the university. 

As reported by Epress.am earlier today, Armenia’s Ministry of Education and Science had asked ASUE rector Yuri Suvaryan to come in for questioning on this very matter.
