Armenian Government Discussed Next Steps in North-South Road Corridor Program

The North-South Road Corridor Investment Program Governing Council chaired by RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan convened for a regular session today.

Today’s meeting confirmed the results of the tender for construction work of the 11.71-km Yerevan-Ashtarak section of the existing road.

The board discussed the memo concerning the multi-phase financing of the North-South Road Corridor Investment Program drafted during the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Oct. 25 – Nov. 4 visit and approved it, together with board members’ recommendations and comments.

Among other agenda items, the second tranche of the Ashtarak-Talin road was also discussed. Approving the work overall thus far, Armenia’s prime minister instructed Felix Pirumyan, the Executive Director of the Program Implementation Organization (PIO) of the North-South Road Corridor Investment Program (NSRCIP PIU SNCO), to report back with clear assessments of the work carried out.
