Turkey Trusts Armenians with its Children, But Won’t Ratify Protocols: Bagis

The protocols signed between Armenia and Turkey won’t be ratified until the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is resolved, said Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator for Turkey’s accession negotiations with the EU Egemen Bagis during his official visit to Denmark, reports 1news.az, citing Turkish newspaper Hurriyet.

“Armenia is currently going through a difficult economic crisis; the country’s population has dropped by half; 70,000 Armenians alone live illegally in Turkey. Despite this, we turn a blind eye and we give them the opportunity to earn a living. Many Armenian women in Turkey work as nannies; that is, we trust them with the most valuable thing we have — our children. If we were filled with hatred towards the Armenians, then we wouldn’t trust them with our children,” he said.
