Activists Demanding Release of Political Prisoners to Gather in Front of Armenia Marriott

The Committee for the Protection of Political Prisoners and Persecuted People will be organizing a “picket” in front of the Armenia Marriott Hotel in Yerevan’s Republic Square on Jan. 18 at 1 pm to demand the immediate release of all political prisoners in Armenia.

Recall that on Jan. 18, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammarberg will arrive in Armenia, where he will be staying at the Armenia Marriott.

As previously reported, Hammarberg will meet with leader of the opposition group the Armenian National Congress Levon Ter-Petrossian, as well as visit imprisoned journalist Nikol Pashinyan during his three-day visit.
