On Jan. 22, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will be in Armenia for a two-day official visit.
“It is important that the president’s first visit in 2011 will take place in Armenia because it emphasizes the friendship between the two countries,” said Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nino Kalandadze at a weekly press briefing.
According to her, the Georgian delegation will also include Minister of Foreign Affairs Grigol Vashadze, who will meet with his Armenian counterpart, reports Georgia Online.
Kalandadze said prospects for deepening relations, including in the economic and political sectors, between the two South Caucasus states will be discussed during the meetings.
