Two Armenian Soldiers Wounded Along Karabakh–Azerbaijan Line of Contact

Azerbaijan continues to violate the ceasefire regime by occasionally firing along the Nagorno Karabakh—Azerbaijan Line of Contact, according to a notice published today on the NKR Defense Army website. Just last week, more than 550 shots were fired which resulted in Armenian soldiers being wounded.

According to the NKR Defense Army, at around 12:25 pm on Jan. 14, Armenian conscript Vardan Andranik Harutyunyan, 18, received gunshot wounds from shots fired from the southeastern direction (Martuni) of the Line of Contact.

A day later, on Jan. 15 at 5:20 pm, a similar incident — this time along the eastern (Askeran) direction of the Line of Contact — resulted in Armenian soldier Khachatur Murad Aslanyan, 18, receiving a blow to his left arm. At 6 pm, he was taken to hospital where his condition is stable.

Other details related to these incidents are currently being confirmed.
