“I have not thought about the precise structure of my report; whether there will be a paragraph per person or not,” said Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammarberg at a press conference live tweeted by Epress.am in Yerevan, Armenia, today and responding to a journalist’s question whether he will mention imprisoned opposition journalist Nikol Pashinyan in particular in his Armenia report.
“But I had a very detailed discussion with him. And I can assure you, he was well-prepared for the meeting,” said Hammarberg, smiling.
The CoE Commissioner for Human Rights also addressed the question of the health of former National Assembly deputy Sasun Mikaelyan who is currently in prison.
“Yes, I met with Sasun Mikaelyan in the prison hospital. One concern is that he has heart conditions. I would want him to be released,” Hammarberg said.
