Responding to Armenia-Russia Match-Fixing Allegations Beneath Fursenko’s Dignity

Russian Football Union President Sergey Fursenko declined to comment on a recent report that alleged a possible match-fixing in the Armenia-Russia Euro 2012 qualifier published by local Armenian daily Jamanak (“Times”).

“Someone already called me about this issue. I said, it’s beneath my dignity to even answer this question. We haven’t paid attention to this issue. We haven’t even considered filing a lawsuit against the Armenian paper. Then what, you never know who said what. A dog barks, the wind blows,” said Fursenko, speaking to Championat.ru.
