The most turbulent county from the former Soviet Union today is Russia, reports RIA Novosti, citing findings from a poll the news agency conducted from Feb. 2 to 7, 2011. In total, 6,209 readers participated in the poll.
More than half of RIA Novosti readers (52.57%) believe that the next revolution will happen in Russia. Another “at-risk” country was Ukraine. The popular uprising here was predicted by 16.85% of respondents.
Third place for a possible revolution was given to Moldova (8.17%); fourth, Georgia (5.36%). Rounding off the top five was Belarus (4.7%).
Next, survey participants ranked the following countries of the former Soviet Union in terms of possible revolutions: Kyrgyzstan (3.38%), Uzbekistan and Tajikstan (almost 2%), Kazakhstan (1.19%), Estonia (0.93%), Azerbaijan (0.82%), Turkmenistan (0.74%), Armenia (0.56%), Latvia (0.47%) and Lithuania (0.32%).
