Armenia Loses to Georgia in Cyprus Friendly

In the friendly match that wrapped up at around 7 pm on Feb. 9 in Limassol, Cyprus, the Armenian national football team lost to Georgia, 1-2.

Georgia scored its two goals in the first half. Georgia’s veteran Alexander Iashvili opened the scoring with the first goal at the 22nd minute, which was repeated at the 34th minuted by David Siradze.

Throughout the match, the Armenians had the territorial advantage, which, however, only led to a single goal from the Armenian team. For a foul on Armenian midfielder Henrich Mkhitaryan at the 62nd minute, the referee assigned an 11-meter penalty kick, which resulted in a goal by Edgar Manucharyan.
