Detained HAK Activist Artashes Sardaryan Now Released (updated)

Armenian National Congress (HAK) activist Artashes Sardaryan, who had been detained in Arabkir police station, has been released. This news was conveyed to Epress.am by Sardaryan’s wife.

As reported earlier, Sardaryan was picked up from his shop at the intersection of Papazyan and Kochar by a white Niva and taken to Arabkir police station. The reason for being detained is still not yet known.

Recall, Arabkir police division informed Epress.am earlier that Sardaryan was not taken to their station.

In other news, people believed to be police officers in civilian clothes seized 600 leaflets from HAK activists on Thursday in the Erebuni administrative district and on Saturday in the Ajapynak administrative district.

Further, as reported earlier by Epress.am, HAK supporter Samson Khachatryan was picked up outside the Dynamo sports club on Sunday and taken to Yerevan’s central police division. He is being charged under RA Criminal Code Article 316 Section 1 (violence against a representative of the authorities) connected to an incident that took place on Mar. 1.
