At Baku’s hospital no. 1, thief-in-law Mamed Masalinski (Mamed Huseynov) died from a brain hemorrhage. After the death of another notorious Azerbaijani criminal, Hikmet Sabirabadski, Masalinski was considered the “godfather” of the Azerbaijani criminal syndicate in Russia.
The 50-year-old Masalinksi had long suffered from diabetes.
His funeral will be held in his native Masalinski region. Commenting on reports that Masalinski’s colleagues from the criminal underworld in Georgia, Russia and Ukraine will arrive at the funeral, the country’s Interior Affairs minister said that if the visitors are not on an international wanted list, they can freely cross the border into Azerbaijan.
“But if someone is declared to be wanted, then the Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies will take appropriate measures,” he said, report various Azerbaijani press.
